Strawberry milkshake

Creamy icy strawberry milkshake - what else is needed during a hot summer day. When it is strawberry season, I want to get the red, juicy, sweet, delicious strawberries and make full use of it. Preparing strawberry milkshake is easy and can be prepared in minutes - a quick treat that is cooling and refreshing. I enjoyed my creamy strawberry milkshake with my daughter, a perfect afternoon treat, relaxing and enjoying it in the garden.

Preparation time: 15 mins

Serves: 1

Ingredients

  1. Strawberries (big, hulled and sliced) – 5 to 6
  2. Milk – 1 cup
  3. Sugar – 1 tsp or as per taste
  4. Strawberry ice cream – 1/2 cup or 1 scoop
  5. Garnish

  6. Strawberries – few
  7. Rooh afza (optional) – 2 tsp
  8. Strawberry ice cream – 1/2 cup or 1 scoop
  9. Whipped cream

Method

  1. First blend the strawberries to a puree or coarsely in a mixer.
  2. Add milk, sugar and ice cream. Blend until smooth and frothy.
  3. Pour into ice cream parlor glasses. Add strawberry ice cream to the milkshake. Garnish the rim of each glass with a whole strawberry.
  4. You can also garnish with whipped cream on top and a drizzle of rooh afza over the cream. This will enhance the presentation and the strawberry milkshake will look more appetizing.

Notes

  1. I have used fresh strawberries. You can use frozen strawberries too.
  2. I have used rooh afza and whipped cream just for garnishing and colour. It is optional, so you can choose to avoid.
  3. If necessary, add a few ice cubes to make the milkshake frothy, while blending the strawberries and milk.
  4. You can prepare the milkshake with just milk and strawberries but it will not be as creamy as this milkshake.
  5. Instead of strawberry ice cream, you can use vanilla ice cream too. It goes well with the strawberry milkshake too.
